I have a new store! I’ve been looking for a way to consolidate my various on-line venues and Shopify has what I need. It’s a work in progress, but eventually all my available art will be listed there. I’ve started with a sampling of my art, but there’s plenty more to add. In addition to original works, you’ll also find the full complement of reproduction items, prints on metal and paper, earrings, and note cards.

I’m happy to report that “Grassland Grace”, my scratchboard drawing of a Sandhill Crane won a third place in the Lodi Crane Festival’s art show and it also sold.

“Fuzzdorable“, my scratchboard drawing of a filly, was awarded first place in the “Anything Goes” category at the Art at the Classic show. Read more and see stages of the drawing in progress in this blog post.
I’m thrilled to announce that Tell Me More About “Sheep”, my scratchboard drawing of a border collie pup, has been selected for publication in North Light Books’ Strokes of Genius 7, Depth, Dimension + Space. This book is due out in October 2015.
I’m honored to announce that “Cathy’s Burrito Bouquet” received an “Award of Excellence” at the 2014 International Society of Scratchboard Artists‘ (ISSA) exhibition.
I submitted “Call of the Prairie” which was also accepted.
My husband and I traveled to Cary, NC to attended the exhibition. Over the weekend, while I attended the workshops and presented a discussion of composition, he went birding and exploring. Read more in this blog post.
Thanks to Susan Raines for writing this very nice article about me and my participation in the Art & Brew event coming up in April. She’s writing a series of articles about the participating artists.
At the end of 2013, I was accepted into WAOW – Women Artists of the West as an Associate member. WAOW is a long-standing artists’ organization that I’d considered joining for a number of years. I’d waited until I had work to submit that I felt confident would fit their criteria and I’m honored to be a member. A few weeks ago, I submitted my first two works to a WAOW show and I received word last week that they were accepted. Tell Me More About “Sheep” and Sandhill Crane will be going to San Diego for the show in May. *Update: both of these pieces sold at the WAOW show.
You can read more about these two drawings in this blog post.
I’m honored that my bison scratchboard drawing was one of 25 selected for the Customer Art section of Cheap Joe’s 2014 art supply catalog. Click on the image for a larger version. That’s the leg of our dog Arrow in the photo – he’s such a good helper.
I know there’s a HUGE gap in posts since the last one. Chalk that up to the fact that I’ve been working on overhauling my web site for a looooong time. I plan to write posts and back-date them to create a time-line of significant events. Stay tuned.
