My scratchboard drawing, “Cathy’s Burrito Bouquet” is headed to the Fine Art Exhibit at the California State Fair (July 10 – 26, 2015)! I’m thrilled and honored that this is one of 180 pieces selected for the show and one of six works in the “Drawing” category. In addition to having a piece in the show, I have been asked to demonstrate scratchboard for three days during the run of the Fair. See this events page for more details about the demo days.
7.19.15 UPDATE: The drawing received an “Award of Excellence” at the fair.
I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve just been accepted as an Associate Member of the Society of Animal Artists. The SAA is a highly respected art organization and it’s an honor to be able to say that I’m a member. My next goal is to get a piece of art in the annual show. I’ll give it my first shot in 2016. It’s always a very competitive show featuring the best works by incredibly talented artists. I have my work cut out for me!
Three of my scratchboard drawings are in the WAOW “Bouquets and Spring Babies” on-line show which continues through June 1st. Click on the image below to see the show. My drawings are on Page 2.
I’m excited and honored to be Artsy Shark’s featured artist today! Click on the shark to find out more.
I have a new store! I’ve been looking for a way to consolidate my various on-line venues and Shopify has what I need. It’s a work in progress, but eventually all my available art will be listed there. I’ve started with a sampling of my art, but there’s plenty more to add. In addition to original works, you’ll also find the full complement of reproduction items, prints on metal and paper, earrings, and note cards.

My husband and I traveled to Cary, NC to attended the exhibition. Over the weekend, while I attended the workshops and presented a discussion of composition, he went birding and exploring. Read more in this blog post.
