At some point, I realized that what I'd put in as "table top" under her arm at the upper right didn't make sense and was actually the floor. It was the same color as the table in the photo. I covered that with black ink and worked the shirt a little to make it slightly lighter than black. - Burrito Bouquet 1
Transfer lines, some scratching and my experiment in the lower right corner to see if I could get the wood grain effect I wanted. To do that, I lightly scratched away the black with the flat edge of a #16 X-acto blade. It looked "scuffed" after that. Then I drew some lines at an angle, licked my finger and smeared the ink around. A highly technical process ????, but it worked! - Burrito Bouquet 2
