Using a photograph for reference, Ann paints quickly in watercolor on Yupo, a synthetic paper
made of polypropylene. The slick, non-absorbent surface of the paper allows the colors to
remain vibrant and to flow and blend differently than on traditional watercolor paper.
Once the paint is dry, she adds just a touch
of color pencil if needed.

Because these interpretive portraits are not as detailed or time consuming as Ann's
traditional style portraits, she is able to offer them as a less expensive alternative.
Any species or breed can be painted as long as a photo is provided. Although these
portraits are completed more quickly, please note that they are still placed on
Ann's chronological waiting list with all other portraits.
